Goodbye, High Chair
Posted by sara on May 29th, 2009. Filed under: Development, Zoe.This week, we retired the high chair. For the last time. It has been banished to the garage for now, and will probably make its way to Goodwill once I get it cleaned up real good. Doesn’t our family table look like … well, like a family table now?

I promise that Mike and I do actually put food on our plates. Sometimes we even use real glasses as opposed to our ever-present water bottles. You know, when we want to be FANCY.

We also handed her a spoon and our Little Big Girl took right to it like she’d been using it for years. She’s observant, this one. She’s always watching, taking notes. I don’t know why I let it surprise me anymore when she does things I don’t expect her to be able to do. She always seems to know what to do, and she’s always waiting for us to just give her the opportunity. Sometimes we’re a little slow on the uptake because we think of her as the Baby. We are so silly.

But when it comes to dessert? Well, with dessert, sometimes a little girl just HAS to use her hands. I don’t hold it against her.

So funny, Sara, we just gave our baby a spoon a couple of weeks ago. Actually my MOM gave one to her and she started to chow down. We were amazed, and Mom was amazed that we hadn’t been giving her one, LOL. Not babies anymore, I guess!
