Sugar and Spice and Everything Sedimentary

My girl? She collects rocks. She comes home from the park with pocketfuls. If you have paving pebbles in your yard, you can bet that Avery is going to steal at least one before she leaves. She comes home from walks with her Daddy with no less than two rocks in each sweaty little hand. Then she gives them to me, still warm with all that three year old enthusiasm.
“Mommy look at this rock! I brought it just for YOU.”
She’s been telling us recently that when she goes to college, she’s going to study rocks. Maybe even rocks from SPACE. This is a bit of a step up from her previous plan of studying puzzles, so we are very pleased indeed.
I’d like to thank our friend Carly for gifting Avery with this lovely basket and little decorative tins. Their intended purpose was to hold little girly trinkets, I’m sure. With Avery, these ARE the girly trinkets, and she is very appreciative to have such pretty containers for them.

Well, you collected bugs and moths. I think I would have rather had rocks in your bedroom instead of bugs and moths:)

Your daughter sounds like a girl after my own heart! Does she have a rock tumbler yet? I used to have one when I was a little girl, and it made even the most ordinary rock pretty and shiny.
